About ANDREW LANG
Andrew joined RMM in March 2025 and focuses his practice on civil litigation defense, including insurance defense matters. He is known for his precise and effective legal writing and for developing well-reasoned litigation strategies that promote efficient, defensible outcomes.
An East Coast native, Andrew graduated magna cum laude from Tufts University, where he received an undergraduate research award. He earned his Juris Doctor from New York University School of Law, where he further refined his legal research and writing skills through work in a criminal appeals clinic.
Following law school, Andrew clerked for a judge of the New Jersey Superior Court, gaining substantial exposure to motion practice, trial preparation, and judicial decision-making. He then relocated to Colorado to serve as a Deputy Public Defender in Colorado Springs. In that role, he represented indigent criminal defendants through all phases of litigation and was routinely entrusted with complex and contested matters, securing numerous dismissals and favorable outcomes.
Andrew later served with the Office of Respondent Parent Counsel, representing parents in child welfare proceedings involving custody, parenting time, and termination of parental rights. His work in this role required careful factual development and persuasive written advocacy in matters with significant and lasting consequences. He regularly obtained favorable rulings for clients, including preserving parental rights and preventing the suspension of parenting time.
He subsequently entered private practice, where he handled a broad range of civil litigation matters, including contract disputes, landlord-tenant claims, negligence actions, premises liability, and defamation. His work included prevailing on dispositive motions, obtaining dismissals of civil claims, and successfully opposing anti-SLAPP motions through targeted and effective briefing.
In his current practice, Andrew manages matters through discovery and resolution, including drafting and arguing dispositive and pre-trial motions, taking and defending depositions, and representing clients in mediation. His approach emphasizes thorough written analysis, clear presentation of complex issues, and early evaluation of risk and exposure. He has successfully opposed claims for exemplary damages and has resolved numerous matters prior to trial.
Andrew is proficient in Spanish.
Outside of his practice, he enjoys spending time with his wife and their two rescue dogs and exploring Colorado Springs.
